Numerical name vs. personalized name?

Your legal name must be used in all your official communications (contracts, invoices) with third parties. Having a personalized name allows you to record the legal name you want in words (ex: Your NPO name). At the provincial level, your organization cannot have a numbered name. If you do not wish to use a personalized name, you will have to incorporate federally and the government will automatically assign you a numbered name (ex: 1234-5678 Canada Association).

Assignment of intellectual property for co-founders (IP)

Have you or someone else created a technology, a logo, a website, or invented your organization’s name? Does your company intend to use any of these creations in the course of its activities? It is recommended to ensure the intellectual property covering these creations are assigned to your organization. This will allow the organization to use and modify these creations without limitation and to be part of its assets, which can be assigned or licensed one day.
