Annual update and current update

There are two types of updates to the information in the records: annual and current. The annual update is due at a certain time each year. It is mandatory and consists of indicating to the records any changes that have occurred in your business during the past year. If there is no change, the annual update is mandatory, and is intended to indicate that there is no change.

The current update is mandatory when you make certain changes in your company (change of head office, addition of a facility, new director, etc.) outside the annual update period. It must be produced within 30 days of the changes. These processes are important because they allow you to validate the information related to your company or to inform of corporate changes decided by the directors or the shareholders. Failure to do so can lead to fines and the deregistration of your company.
